These articles will elaborate how the Treon Gateway updates it’s firmware and what it does to customer data and installed programs.
What happens in the update sequence
When the update process starts, the Treon Gateway first downloads the new version of the Treon Aito Release for Gateway in case this is required. After the upload is done, the gateway starts long update process, which might take from 2-10 minutes depending on the load of the gateway.
In the update process the Treon Gateway first unpacks and writes the new release version to secondary slot and boots from it. This is followed up by persist_move which moves persisted files back from user partition.
After persist_move is complete the gateway will perform updatehooks which are scripts run after the firmware has been successfully installed to the new partition.
